Lint or dust got into tank

Post by Yessie »

I have a bunch of particles in my tank after accidentally dropping the cover into the tank… hoping this won’t harm the shrimp, is there anything I can do to clean the water?

If the debris is floating in the water or on the surface, you can skim it off with a net. If they are in the bottom, you can use a straw with your finger at the top to siphon them out. Hold your finger at the top of the straw to keep the air in. Then hover above the debris, remove your finger and the debris will siphon up along with the water that enters the straw. I often remove things from the tank that way. If the tank is deep, you can tape two straws together.

On the other hand, it is probably safe to just leave it be. Your call.
