Brackish Water Snail in RO Water?

Post by ProLogic »

Hi All,

Would a brackish water snail die if I put it in a small freshwater mossball jar or would it acclimate to the new water? The jar is overgrown with algae on the the glass and I was thinking about stealing one or two of the snails from my Opae Ula tank to see if they can clean up the jar a bit.

Thanks for your insight.

You can do it, but you have to acclimate them slowly over a day or two...i.e. put them in a jar with their original water and slowly keep adding the freshwater over several hours or days.
