Hey,
I was searching for some shrimp today so for the first time in awhile, I checked azgardens.com. I found out they added new shrimp species but have very little info on them. Does anybody know anything about the species? They have pics on the site but az is notorious for misrepresentation. I am just wondering about the care and the breeding of these species and their latin name.
NEW! Dwarf Blackberry Algae Eating Shrimp Caridina spp.
Size: 3/4" to 1" pH: versatile Temp: versatile Origin: Thailand
This is a relative of the Amano algae eating shrimp. Looks like a Dwarf Black Amano.
Stocking Ratio: up to 3 shrimp per gallon.
NEW! Dwarf Emerald Green Deora Algae Eating Shrimp
Caridina spp.
Size: 3/4" to 1" pH: versatile Temp: versatile Origin: Thailand
This is yet another relative of the Amano algae eating shrimp. Looks like a Dwarf Green Amano.
Stocking Ratio: up to 3 shrimp per gallon.
I also read a tidbit of info that kinda suprised me about the sand shrimp macrobrachium mirabile. It said, " Sometimes categorized in the Long Arm or Claw Shrimp family, these shrimp will thrive in either brackish to completely freshwater environments." Will they really survive in brackish water?
What species?

Hi Shrimp_123, I noticed the "new" additions too. Did you ever send for any shrimps?
Just wanted to comment that their "NEW! Dwarf Emerald Green Deora Algae Eating Shrimp" looks very similar to the Green shrimp (Caridina cf. babaulti) listed here in the shrimp varieties section. This section further goes on to say: "There is still debate about what exact species this shrimp actually is. It shows most features of Caridina babaulti as described in scientific literature, but also has body features that are slightly different. As soon as there is more clarification I will update this website accordingly."

Again...just as JavaGirl did earlier, you are breaking forum rules. I'll quote again from the front page of this forum:Keder wrote:http://vn-72.netfirms.com/72-shrimp.html

"Also, DO NOT INQUIRE ABOUT SHRIMP FOR SALE OR OFFER SHRIMP FOR SALE, since this forum is for the exchange of information only. Thank you for your understanding."
Yes, these rules even apply to inquiries directed at me although I own the site. PM or email serves this purpose just fine. All I sell right now is listed on my Petshrimp Store page.
Having said that, the 4th picture on that chinese page is a bee shrimp.
