Shrimp ID

I saw something similar to this shrimp except they were brownish(wood colour) and some were transparent redish . So are they the same species with different colour? Thank you.

after reading the shrimp varieties page more carefully. I think the shrimps that I saw are the indian whitebanded shrimps; however, I found none of them carry the whitebanded ......

I may need to go check it again.

So say if it is, I would like to confirm that this caridina sp. will breed with tiger s, crystal red, but not cherries. Am I correct?

No, you're not correct. Just because it's caridina it won't necessarily breed with other Caridina.

Plus, with just a sparse description of what you saw there is no way of telling if you have the Indian Whitebanded shrimp or not.

I manage to get the pictures from the store and here it is:

They seem to have different colours (change into??) I saw some with tint of green, some with semi-transparent redish, some with browish (dark).

Is there a particular colour for this shrimp to indicate it is not healthy or it is sick?

This is definitely not the same species as the Indian Whitebanded Shrimp. They look similar to one of the species that is imported as "Rainbow Shrimp" from India and are listed as "Indian Algae Shrimp" in the Shrimp Varieties page. They are color variable. I have to update that particular species since the pictures are very old and are not the best representations of these shrimp.

So what species do they fall into? Sorry, I am very new to shrimps in general and wonder if they're safe to mix with the cherries or tigers. I just got them on an impluse purchase. Now, I am a bit disappointed that they're not indian whitebands. I still want to keep them but just wonder what exact species are they.

I will try take better picture of them. I bought 10 and found an extra baby shrimp in the bag ... Oo

Unidentified species. But yes, you can mix them with Red Cherry Shrimp and Tiger Shrimp without having to fear hybridization.
