Acclimating shrimps from blackish water to full freswater

Post by bgssamson »

I will be getting 20 wild tiger shrimp (seller's not 100 % sure). The seller said that water they are in is brackish with 1.07 gravity. I have a 2.5gallon empty that I have just cycling since yesterday (freshwater) I will buy the hydromiter tonight & get it started with 1.07 salinity.

Now the question is how can I acclimate them slowly to freshwater? any hints suggestions are very welcome.

Note:
As soon as I received this shrimps I will post the pictures to help identify them.

Thank you in advance!

I saw those same posts. I've delt with that seller as an admin on another forum. I'm sorry to say but I don't trust that guy as far as I can toss a car. We'll see and I hope you can prove me wrong.

Now as to aclimate them I would do small water changes every few days with fresh water untill it is all fresh.

Oh man....I hate people like that. Everyone has to be careful NOT to buy anything from anyone unless they provide an original representative picture taken by the seller himself/herself. This applies to both individual sellers and online stores (I have experienced both types of sellers trying to sell shrimp they did not have and deliver something totally different...and half-dead or dead at that). I consider that criminal.

Shady people and outfits like that should never even get near anything that's alive.
