Fungus?

Post by dom »

I found this inside the shrimp tank. It is attached on the Fissiden and mosses. I was thought it was the snail eggs. But then they will move and reacted like the mushroom in marine. Once you touch it...it will shrink and move to other direction.

But never see any shrimp or shrimplet trap on this. Please advise.

Hmm...interesting stuff. I have never seen it before. It does not look like fungus though.

Spongilla (sp?), maybe? Or... uh... moss animals?

(Never actually SEEN either for myself, only photos with questionable scale, so...)

I don't think they look like snail eggs. In snail eggs the white parts would be bigger.

Just an idea, though, I could be completely wrong. If I had something like that in my tank that responded to touch then I would be *creeped* out.

Hydra Maybe?

Post by badflash »

Any chance of super close-up of a lump? This may be a colony of animals related to the hydra. If they have a bunch of little tentacles, that is what they are. Sort of like a freshwater anemonea. They sting little swimmers and eat them.

Polyps of some sort

Post by badflash »

My Triops Tank just exploded with a growth of the same thing. I didn't know you could get infected by reading a post in a forum. This is the most amazing computer virus I've ever seen.

Beeter check the fridge to be sure it didn't drink my beer. Good thing I just got the dog spayed.
