Flour shrimp?

Post by TKD »

Hi all,

I went to my local LSF and they said that they had had a "flour shrimp".
The way they dicribed it was that it had the same coloration a cherry or a red version of a green shrimp.... any ideas?:?
Thanks,

TKD

They probably meant to say "flower" shrimp. I picture would help (although it is never definite). Other than that my mantra about shrimp names is still valid: If you do not have a scientific name it's impossible to figure out what you have since any Joe Shmoe can name his shrimp any way he wants before selling it.

Your fish store's explanation of the shrimp also shows how they have no idea about what they are selling you. Sad sad...

My favorite misnomers are the various kinds of "blue" shrimp, which mostly don't have a shred of blue on them.
