I think I am getting ahang of taking the pictures with the magnifying glass. I can put off getting a new camera now.

How does that work? A magnifying glass would be much more affordable than a new camera.

Do you need one the same size, or larger, than the lens?

I just happen to have a big old glass one. 4 inch around. With a big bendy metal handle. Stands all by it self. I've used it in the fish room for years.
So when Mustafa said he used to take pictures that way. I thought I would try it out. I just hold the camera right up to it and get it as close to the glass as possible, then take the picture. Making sure my camera focuses correctly. I use this in combination with my macro setting which is not that good by itself. But the glass has proven to work good. Thanks to Mustafa I now have a new way to take pictures. You can try what you may have lying around. If you have nothing I would suggest you get glass over plastic.
