I'm sure marble isn't to blame. A few months back I was using marble as my gravel. I found it impossible to keep pH below 8.5.

I'd check my resin if your "soft" water is 300 GH.

Resin is fine:) This is a new and very well maintained water softner. The city water is from natural artesian springs and we have TONS and TONS of limestone and other minerals in the area. So our water - pre softner- is very very hard.

Good source of Calcium though
