Kenshin, I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering how your green shrimp have been doing. Were you able to get them going?

Yes, I have. In fact, I have finally cycled my new 20 gallon long tank recently and have placed the snowball and green shrimps in it. All of the female green shrimps are carrying eggs which is always great - as well as the snowball shrimps. Meanwhile, I have been using the turkey baster to suck baby shrimps out from my old tank for the past 3 or 4 days already (and still doing it). I did not realize that the green shrimps had that many babies and are growing very slowly - just like Mustafa have stated. I also have quiet a few snowball baby shrimps and they are easier to catch with the turkey baster. My new tank's substrate is Seachem Onyx Sand with several pieces of crushed corals inside the tank for buffering and calcium supplement. The pH is around 7.6 with an Aquaclear 50 power filter with a sponge over the intake and an additional air-sponge filter with Najas grass and some Java moss for the plants. So far so good, and I cannot wait to have a nice colony in the near future. Thank you for asking.

I am so happy for you. These shrimp are the next type I want to get. I would love to see pictures when you get the chance and find out more about how well you are rearing the babies. I hope you will end up with tons. Keep us updated, please.
