I think the eggs hatched less than a week after that picture.
I've never seen the ADFs eat any shrimp, but it isn't for lack of trying. When the frog hops forward to take a bite, the shrimp easily jump away. That's not to say they won't get lucky and catch a shrimp unawares every once in a while (I've just never seen it happen). Mostly, I only see them go after shrimp when they smell food nearby and then see a shrimp.
Here's some more pictures
Not the greatest picture, but it's the best shot I've gotten of a very young shrimp so far. I think its about 3-4 mm long.
nice pics if i had a cam id take some pics and post them but i only have a web cam and you all dont want to see what they come out like... like you are looking at a pic after being poked in the eyes.

Chances are you wont see it happen either but if you take out the frog I'm betting your shrimp numbers will increase exponentionally, that's what happened in my tank. In the period of a couple of weeks I went from finding 5 babies to 50. I figure that my frog was snacking on all the babies....
If your trying to get rid of snails, try putting a peice of cucumber in your tank before going to bed. The next morning it should be covered with snails. Just remove and repeat if necessary.
So that is the piece of wood your shrimps seem to love I keep Ottos in my tanks which clean up the brown algae and they are safe around all shrimps. Thank you for the picture
