I am surprised your African Dwarf Frog doesn't eat the shrimp. I didn't think you could keep them together.

I think the eggs hatched less than a week after that picture.

I've never seen the ADFs eat any shrimp, but it isn't for lack of trying. When the frog hops forward to take a bite, the shrimp easily jump away. That's not to say they won't get lucky and catch a shrimp unawares every once in a while (I've just never seen it happen). Mostly, I only see them go after shrimp when they smell food nearby and then see a shrimp.

Here's some more pictures :D

Not the greatest picture, but it's the best shot I've gotten of a very young shrimp so far. I think its about 3-4 mm long.

I can't crush these snails fast enough...

Chances are you wont see it happen either but if you take out the frog I'm betting your shrimp numbers will increase exponentionally, that's what happened in my tank. In the period of a couple of weeks I went from finding 5 babies to 50. I figure that my frog was snacking on all the babies....

You're probably right. I've been thinking about moving the frogs into my community tank because feeding them is pretty messy.

I must say, I still like your tank setup. Could you please post a complete tank shot? :)

Thanks.

Here you go:

I would have posted one earlier, but I wanted to get the brown algae off the front

For some reason my light has a pinkish tint and makes everything look unnaturally red. I wonder if the RCS prefer this or a normal color light...

If your trying to get rid of snails, try putting a peice of cucumber in your tank before going to bed. The next morning it should be covered with snails. Just remove and repeat if necessary.

So that is the piece of wood your shrimps seem to love :D I keep Ottos in my tanks which clean up the brown algae and they are safe around all shrimps. Thank you for the picture :)

I tried a couple of Ottos... They didn't eat the algae and died after a couple of weeks
Maybe they were just a bad batch :(

Sorry to hear about the ottos, I hear that they are hard to acclimate into a tank and they need more care during the transition.

otto are not easy to acclimate , but when they are , they are doing well and will never disturb anybody.
