one more question. I am thinking about using RO water for better water quality for these guys, since they seem more sensitive than the RCS and ghosts that I've bred in the past. While the green shrimp will appreciate my hard water, I live in an agricultural area so am concerned about the possibility of toxins or other weird things in the groundwater. I've e-mailed my local water district before, but never gotten a response. In addition, their website does not link to a list of water specifics. So I'm thinking I should just use RO water, better to be safe than sorry.
So my question is, what should I add to the RO water? It seems like most people on here use Seachem Equilibrium or mix RO water with their tap water. What would be the best route? I appreciate the guidance, as I've never used reverse osmosis before.
Thanks in advance for the help, as well as for all previous guidance.
