Are you testing different foods to see if certain types better maximize growth?
Yup.. that's one of the reasons. Apart from that, trying to give our shrimps some varieties. As far as I've read, calcium is one of the key elements for shrimps. Seen somewhere there's calcium blocks for shrimps to feed. Supposed to aid in rebuilding their shells after shedding. Read somewhere that their after shedding their shells, the shrimps eat them back for calcium. However, read a scientific article that shrimps and other invertebras shed their shell to get rid of toxic materials (ie iron, etc). :? Anyone care to advise on this? Is it healthy for shrimps to eat back their shells for calcium or should we remove the shells?

Is this home prepared or off the shelf?

Wonder if there's any genetic defect later on by feeding shrimps to shrimps?

I always leave the molts for my shrimpies to dine on at their leisure. If they need the nutrients, they'll eat them pretty quickly. If not, then at least I've given them the option. The only time I remove the molts (exuviae) is when they start to get moldy. But that never happens in my shrimp breeding tanks, only in my fish tanks which contain shrimp.

My RCS and Caridina Gracilirostris really go crazy when I throw in a rock from my turtle take that is covered in Black Beard Algae. It's non-stop eating!
Here is a three hour time laps in 2 minutes:

And a few minutes of the party that they had today, with a cameo from a very berried Ghost:

That sounds really interesting, but the video would not load for me. Is it working for other people?
