One of the other berried females releasing larvae....

She was just finishing up this morning when I got up and I got to see several of them floating out as they hatched.

Hi All,

I now have expanded my Malaya population to 2 tanks with the second being a 20 long. My first generation of young are now very near breeding age and females are showing saddles.I have placed 25 into this new tank. The original shrimp I got from Mustafa are still in the 10 gallon with the rest of the young of all ages and those 4 females are berried as usual.

This is still one of my absolute favorite shrimp!

In one of your other threads I left a post stating that your experience has really inspired me to try out glass/ghost shrimp. I've been to 4 pet stores since and only 1 had any. Half of them were dead, so I didn't buy any. It's funny, now that I want some I can't find any. Anyway, nice to hear about your successes, and what awesome pictures!!!!!!!

Its irony that here in Malaysia if you go to a LFS you see Bee, Tiger, Green, Cherry, Crystal etc but no Malaya! :-)

I accidentally got 2 of these fellas in my bag when getting some Cherries, we thought they were male Cherries in the LFS tank ... went back for more that there are none.

They are all here in America  But seriously, are there any streams near by that have wild specimens?

I'm not sure (sorry to say) - as I have not been out in the jungle trek trails for a looooong time ... if I ever do go hiking along the streams I promise (in fact 'I Swear!') I'll be on the lookout for them!
