Here it is, but it's a lousy picture :(
I'll try to get some better ones. Oh, the shrimp is from Peru, that's all we got to know.

Hi Jackie,

Looks like it might be the same shrimp! You seem to have a very connected wholesaler there! Lucky you! ;) Did you see any shrimp that had similarly long claws as my alpha male at the wholesaler? I hope you have at least a male and a female so you can try to breed them.

By the way...can you make a picture of your "Red Claw" Shrimp with the red tail? I think there are several related Macrobrachium species from India that have been exported in the last couple of years and they are all thrown into the "Red Claw" category (or "Ringelhandgarnelen" in German).

Take care,
Mustafa

Connected - yes, but he's an idiot (I hope he isn't reading this  ). He has absolutly no idea what he's selling.

I didn't see them, my friend Pawel did. He bought them out of pity- the shrimp were almost dead when he saw them at the wholesaler. I'll ask Pawel tomorrow (if i wake him up at this hour he'll kill me - it's 3 AM in Poland now  )

Sure thing :D

(1) "I am trying to spread these shrimp in the hobby and not make them impossible to purchase for most people."
(2) On the other hand, if they are too cheap, people won't appreciate them and treat them badly according to their price."

Hi Mustafa,

About Point (1), your attitude is perfect ! T  The best book on African Violet in Chinese is almost the cheapest one here. If I were a writer, I would also make my book(s) easily accessible to the majority instead of just a small group of richer people. And buying one won't give the readers financial burden.

About Point (2), I understand. Some people find dearer things prettier. But don't worry. Tiger is almost the cheapest species (between US 10 cents and 80 cents each here). But it's my favorite species and I won't look down on them because of their price. What's more, in my opinion, this species is keeper-friendly.

Ladies love diamond, but I find my glowing Cardinal Tetra much more beautiful than diamond. Therefore, I have Cardinal Tetra and have no diamond. Cardinal Tetra is colorful, but diamond is not.

Hi Becky,

Unfortunately you are the exception to the rule. Most people out there really treat animals much worse because they cost less. The death of animals that cost less does not matter to them, because they can "always get another one cheaply." I see it on a daily basis here.

Hi Jackie,

Any more pics of your shrimp, including the red-tailed red claw shrimp?

Thanks Jackie. *Any* pictures are fine. I don't expect professional quality pictures anyway, just pictures where I can recognize the shrimp and some of its coloration. :)

Thanks Jackie! :)

Now some "red claw" shrimp with the red tails would be nice since I have never seen those. :)

Take care,
Mustafa

I agree, very nice pics! Now, on to the 1,000,001 questions about TLC&F of these guys. What about the care and feeding of these guys? How about attitude? Most Macrobranchium tend to be scavengers with a penchant to make sushi/sashimi out of any fish or invert they can lay claw to. Are these naps so inclined? Breeding? Have you seen any females in berry? Plus the 1,001 other questions concerning water H2Q, habitat and habits good & bad....
