The longest I've gone without feeding them is about 3 months. From what I can tell, they have the same reaction to getting fed after 3 months as getting fed every other week.

I will stop feeding them for a few months. There is algae in the tank as well as on the glass. They all seem to be red and molting.

Do babies need somewhere to hide? There are no hiding spots in my tank. Or is this irrelevant?

What is Prime and where may I purchase said elixir?

Whether they need it or not I can't say, but certainly their natural behavior seems to be to spend some time after metamorphosing hidden or largely hidden.

Prime is simply a well-regarded brand of water conditioner. Its sold in places like Petco and Petsmark, at least around where I live.

The smaller the tank the longer the intervals between feeding. I have two tanks (1/2 gallon and 1 gallon) on my kitchen table that I feed maybe once every 2-3 months now. The 1 gallon has only been set up for 4 months. There is reproduction in both tanks (both snails and shrimp reproduce). I'd just leave the tank alone for a few months, especially if you have algae growth. In that case I'd leave the tank alone until all algae has disappeared (been eaten). If you want, you can do a 50-80 percent water change if you suspect that there is something in the water that's the culprit...but I'd only do that as a last resort. Looks like your shrimp are doing fine and your larvae will too once you just leave the tank alone for several months.
