Pale macro algae

Well, I believe the chaeto is indeed dead. How necessary is it to have anyway? Have some algae, but if the chaeto isn’t needed I’ll move ahead without it.

Get some more. I had the same situation in one of my tanks and replaced it with some from another tank. And for some reason it has been going gang busters, much better than the original ever did.
