i am breeding cajun now in a tank with sponge hydro V
crush coral as gravel
nothing else.
i make an cajun "condo" and brake sont clay pot and throw them in.
and i have some shrimp also in it.

i feed them like pig, and lately i hav to introduse some MTS in to lcean a bit the mess they are doing :)
shrimp helping a bit by eating some rest and mts do the rest.
the tank was 2 years old bare bottom groing tank for my apisto, but icompletly redid it, but i keep sponge , and some water.

i am also breeding CPO, in a tank with a setup completly differente.

I am really interested in hearing about the progress people are making with the blue shufeldtiis lately. I don't see blues for sale online very often, which makes me think it isn't going well. Tell me it isn't so!
I bought a group of the blue "morphs" a couple months ago. Here is one of my nicer females. Not a particularly bright blue, but she has a nice blue-green hue to her.

The breeder I got them from has said the adult females tend to show more blue than the males in this strain. I've read here that others have strains where the opposite is true. I'm looking forward to seeing where I can go with the color of this group!

As far as I know the problem with the "blue" cajuns was/is that they seem to turn blue and change back to brown/grey/etc. at various times. I.e. the color is not stable like the blue color of some of the larger crayfish species. Until someone discovers a blue mutation among his/her offspring that actually stays blue all the time I don't think we'll be seeing any blue dwarf crayfish. I really doubt that trying to selectively breed these "morphing blue" crayfish is going anywhere.
