LOL...No way am I shipping zoes. Whether or not Mother Nature is tough on them or not in the wild is not the same as what I would purposely put the little guys through. There may be many zoes hatched in the wild, but there are only a few zoes hatched or that will be hatched in my aquarium, which leaves little room for error or intentional "flubbing" up. I think their trips in the vortex of the turkey baster is enough stress for them in my miniature version of Nature.

So, I know we got off topic here, but a little side conversation is okay, but let's keep the foucs on the project.

I found another female carrying eggs last night!!!!!! I am going tomorrow to get the RO water and getting the tank set up tomorrow night. Time to get the ball rolling on this project!

They look like tiny little upside down sea horses.

Eh....well, I've never owned Amanos to attempt to raise the zoes, so no. lol To my understanding, this guy used Mike's methods.

Whoops, sorry for the misunderstaning. with all the talk about zoes and then the new link posted I got a little "zoe" confused Thanks again for the link. How are things going with your egg hatching?

Well, still waiting on the eggs to hatch. I've got 2 tanks set up and ready to go for when they do hatch.

So, I am expecting a hatching soon! The last time I posted that a female is/was carrying eggs was on October 20. Today is November 12, so it should be soon! The tanks are ready!

The specific garvity (I'll use SG from now on) in tank #1 is 1.012 to 1.013. Is this too high or too low?

It's a good start. You'll have to experiment with salinity (and a bunch of other variables) for a while to find the optimum for this species and for your own setup.

That's what I was thinking. That, and maybe set up tank #2 with a higher salinity.
