In any case, they sure are fun to watch, and maybe I'll have babies in a couple of three four weeks.
I find a tank ful of flying shrimp to be one of the coolest sights 8) Best wishes on the breeding shrimp!

I would try to get a video, but my video camera SUCKS and won't focus on the shrimp... all you would see is java moss and rocks.

Anyway, one of the cherries has done something... interesting, I think. Well, frustrating is more like it... appears to have laid her eggs ONTO THE JAVA MOSS. At any rate there's a mass of yellowish eggs in there, that can't be from anything else as the only other inhabitants are pond snails. GR. Is there something I could do to save them maybe? I searched the forum, and found mentions of people hand raising shrimp eggs, but not how it would be done... mesh net by the filter output maybe? I think maybe in the mean time I will try that... stupid shrimp. At the least, maybe she'll get it right next time.

This would be the way to do it. It will keep the fresh water circulating around the eggs and the net will protect them from preditors. Best wishes and let us know when they hatch :-D

I have a feeling they were infertile and she just dropped them. It happens sometimes. I've never seen them leave them in a clump though.

Well, turned out to be a moot point... by the time I found the net and turkey baster, something had eaten them. It was odd, the female was sort of standing next to them, almost like "um, ok, now what am I supposed to do?" The males have stopped their flying for now too, so it's back to the waiting game, although every female I have (except for the one, obviously) is saddled, so hopefully more eggs before too long.

It sounds like you have the right sonditions for breeding, so even that one female will saddle up and have eggs again soon :D

Those eggs are just food for everyone unless it is attached to the mom or removed!
