Mine have kept their color. but they are mostly a steel blue. It will be a generation or two before the electric blue show up.

I produce about 1,000 of these guys a year. I have been working to get the blue color for around 2 years. It started off as just a slight blue. The blue has just recently gotten a lot better. The last two hatches have been fabulous. About 75% blue. Varying from a light blue to a deeper blue. Maybe one more year and I will have the color fixed real nice. I have selected some what I call ice blue to selectively breed as well. These ones are a white blue. Hopefully I can fix these as well. The last 2 batches of my groups had the blueist crays I have gotten so far. The ones you got came from those 2 batches. They seem to change color according to their mood. They also change a little after a molt. I have 6 breeding groups going now. And the bigger they get the color seems to get darker blue. When i first started with this blue I found ones like the brown with blue markings. From this I have been getting a better blue with every hatch. With about a 75% blue coloring with the remaining 25% being a washed out brown. 10% of them are the rarer white blue. I have seperated these and I am starting to work with them as well. Newjohn got one of those. 25% are the blue like in Newjohn's picture and 40% having blue coloration to their body. Varying from cray to cray. I am hoping to have the blue fixed in 1-2 years. So to me it is like a program. Each hatch is better than the last and untill the crays grow up a little you do not know what you have. Bugs, kinks or brown color is what I am working to get rid of.

For the information on your Blue Crayfish.

The Blue one in the Photo, is alot darker color now.
Hopefuly when it gets used to its new tank, It will again show its best color.

I have had a Female carring eggs.
I hope to see little Crayfish soon.

Is around and inch and a half. I guess it is adult size already. it is the biggest I have.

Well I took Mustafa's advice and used a magnifying glass and got a better picture. With more trying I think I can better myself. Here is a pic of one of my Breeder blue females. She is about an inch and a half.

Thanks for sharing you picture Jason . Did you just feed you crays before you took the photo? What are those whitish flakes in the picture?
