Last weekend i put 10 ghost shrimp in a tank with my 2 african dwarf frogs I've since heard reports that they can be quite nippy, and someone also said a ghost shrimp pulled off a ADFs leg

I was just wondering what other peoples experience of them is as I'm quite worried now!!! I have amanos in another tank, and they're great, I was expecting the ghosts to be like them!!!

I've never had ghost shrimp nor ADF, but as far as I know, they wouldn't - couldn't pull off an ADF leg. I definitely could believe some type of Macrobrachium, though, would and could try to make a frogs leg meal!
According to this website, it states: "This species has proven to be extremely peaceful in my tanks. They neither harm fish (not even the tiniest of fry) nor smaller shrimp. Even tiny shrimp larvae of algae eating shrimp are left alone. Others have reported that their "ghost shrimp" have caught fish or at least took pieces out of their fins. I am thinking that those animals were not Palaemonetes paludosus, but some other Palaemonetes or maybe even related Palaemon and Macrobrachium species which are commonly sold as "Ghost Shrimp." or "Glass Shrimp." I would recommend this shrimp as a tankmate for any small fish or shrimp."
Let us know if something weird happens.

I'm starting to think that they weren't ghost shrimp, they were sold as feeder shrimp, but I thought they looked like ghost shrimp!
After finding one hanging onto the tail of one of my threadfin rainbow fish

I had to move them to a different tank I'm not sure what they are now!!!

Yeah, definitely sounds like a still-small macrobrachium.

Much doubt they are ghosties, look at a lot of pics of ghosts and compare, I'm betting your shrimp have longer pincers than the ghosts do...I've bought some from a couple of LFS. Being no shrimp expert, I never figured out what they were but they were not as advertised and they didn't live long.

I highly doubt ghost shrimps would do anything to the ADF. I would think the ADF would be the ones to attack the ghost shrimps if anything, all depends on the size i guess. ACF, African Clawed Frogs would eat ghost shrimps definately, i once had one that grow close to 5+ inches are they are pretty ferocious.
I kept both of them (ADF and ghost shrimps) but not in the same tank. ADF from my experience are pretty jumpy even thought they are fully aquatic, I had a few that found thier way out of the tank and ended up on my bathroom floor, so keep a tight lid for them. From where i am from ghost shrimps are sold as feeder for larger fishes.

yep I'm pretty sure they're not ghost shrimp now, I typed in juvenile Macrobrachium on a google search and they looked v. similar!!!
I've had my ADF's 1 1/2 years and they've never bothered a fish or shrimp, though they will eat tiny snails!!
