after researching on sera florena and sending them an email it has been confirmed that it contains copper now im worried about my shrimps, the email reply told me that the concentration is not that high
Thank you for your interest in our product sera florena.
Yes, the product contains copper, because this is an essential trace element for aquatic plants.
The copper-concentration in your tank-water after dosing the product is very low (0,0015 mg/l), so sera florena would not cause any health problems with fish or crayfish.
should i be worried and stop dosing the fert ? i have read that as long as the plants are healthy it should not be a problem.. but right now im dosing my aquarium via the estimatative index.. so im dosing florena (3-5lm at a tme) every other day ! for a 13 gallon aquarium
your inverts should be fine because the concentration is really low, even if you overdose a little. plus, it's chelated copper, which is a whole lot less toxic to organisms.
oic what kind of copper is the one harmfull to shrimp ? this is something new i never knew different forms of copper were being used to aquarium treatments :0
Just look up "chelated copper" on the internet and you'll find all kinds of explanations. Free, unbound copper is much more harmful to organisms even in small amounts.
