Im making a 33 Long shrimp tank where I hope to have some shrimp breeding. I will have Cherry, Amano, and wood shrimp in it.
Will White Cloud Minnows, SAE's and Oto's be safe to be in there.
I dont want the shrimp or shrimp babies to get eaten if possible.
The tank is heavily planted.
Thanks

shrimps are safe in shrimp only tank only. at least SAE can eat babies, others I don't know.

gr81- is the SAE eating babies from personal experience, or have you just heard about it? I have 3" SAE's and Endler Live Brearers with mine and no troubles. I know SAE's get up to 6" so size could be a factor.

I have 2" SAE and can't exactly say if they are eating babies. But in tank with them I have strange looses of tiny RCS. In tank without SAE no major losts...
That's my experience. Maybe no all SAE eats it.

It is possible, even likely that SAE's or one of the closely related fish being sold as SAE's will eat young shrimp. I see them eat moina and rotifers with gusto, but I've also seen them doing this right next to a baby that was left entirely alone. Maybe I feed mine too well.
Are your's the True SAE's with the serated black line that goes down to the tip of the tail and the tiny catfish wiskers at the edge of their mouths? It took me quite a while to find the real SAE's.
