female shrimp refuses to mate?

hi all.. i witness my male cherries swimming frantically throughout the tank trying to mate with a female.. but the female keeps fending them off and in the end she layed her eggs and dropped all of them immediately!!
what could be the problem! any advice?

There is no problem. The females always try to get away but in the end the males do manage to mate after some persistence. The males always manage to fertilize the females even if there is only one male in the tank.
So, if your female is dropping her eggs it probably has more to do with your water parameters than anything else.

really? i sat there for a few hours hoping to catch them in the act.. but from what i noticed none of them were successful... but den again.. probably your right.. thanks mustafa.. you're always a great help!
