Hi everyone,

One of my not so baby male cherries seems to have impregnated one of my older females at the age of five to six weeks.

The temp is 24 C.

Can anyone comment on this?

It isn't unusual for young males to be seduced by older females. Brings back fond memories

Actually I've seen this with my shrimp too. I had one older female, and a juvie male. That didn't stop the babies from showing up.

:-D Ok I was wondering about that. :-D

Some of the female juvie females have the yellow saddles too.
They have been showing for over a week.

6 weeks - that is the time I have observed in my tanks: from born to carry eggs for females.

I have not paid attention to the male. But I guess HE will need about the same amount of time to grow up.

Yes, I think it was about 5 or 6 weeks when mine first started to be sexually mature.

I have since lost track of any of my "individual" shrimp, as there are generations upon generations going on. Enjoy the time you have to observe your shrimp on an individual basis, and to still be able to count them :)
