Will sick shrimp moult?

Hi all,

I have two tiger shrimp in my sand bottomed 10 uk gallon tank with an otto, a guppy, asolene spixi and viviparus. PH is around 6.8 (much to the disgust of my snails...who's spires are eroding due to the low PH).

I posted previously about one of my tigers having red stripes and was told this means it was going to die. The stripes are black again and have been for around a week or more.

I checked them today and thought I saw a dead shrimp on the filter intake but one of the shrimp had moulted. Is this an indication that they aren't going to die right yet? Or will sick shrimp moult too?

Thanks in advance for any replies

Hi Shrimps&Snails

Are you asking if your Shrimp are not going to die, because they just molted, in relation to them having the red stripes?

In other posts, it has been reported that shrimp can change color. Depending on mood, food and other circumstances.

It seems if your tigers stripes changed back to black they must be doing better.

Just a thought

Thanks for your reply John,

I suppose in a way i'm wanting some reassurance they won't die right now....which I guess is impossible to say.

They both are active, eating and scooting around so i'm just going to keep everything great for them and see what happens.

moulting is a good sign of them doing well
