To Carpet....Or Not To Carpet. That Is The Q

My house is mostly carpet except of course for the kitchen and bathroom. Its been months since I cleaned it. However, my shrimp tank is in my room. I was thinking about doing a total carpet washdown/shampooing. However, was wondering if this would harm the shrimps because I was thinking if the vapors from letting the carpet dry would get to my shrimps somehow.

Help? Thanks beforehand.

Last time I had to use insecticide all over my home to kill bugs. I had to stay away from my home for at least 5 hours. Before I sprayed insecticide I wrapped my fish tanks and flowers with plastic bags and they were perfectly alright when I was back home.

Me thinking too much? Are you kidding me, compare to most of the people here...hardly. Never kept shrimps in my life...I rather be sure than sorry anydays. Was simply wondering if the chemicals would get to them...so I doubt thats such a rediculous question to ask.

Hi Nathan515,

I think your question is a reasonable one. It means you care about the welfare of your little shrimps and you're eager to keep them healthy + happy. :D In this case, I think you may adopt my method - wrap the tank in a big plastic bag so that no vapour or harmful gas can attack the tank water when you clean the carpet.
