CRS eating plants?

i think my crs are eating my anacharis(elodea) -__- moving from the bottom up where the anacharis is planted, the leaves are slowly dwindling and disappearing from what seems to be having been eaten off. there are signs of the crs eating into several other leaves at the top. and i highly doubt it's a plant virus or something considering the other anacharis in the tank is really healthy...
any way to cure this? i already place around 1/8 of an algae wafer inside the tank for them.
oh...and this tank is a 1 gallon (YES YES I KNOW VERY SMALL. but i'd much rather be able to see them grow without any problems before moving them into a larger tank on their own), with red sea's flora base, a few scattered pebbles, 2 anacharis, some najas, and should be around 8 crs that are all juveniles (average 1/3 of an inch).
