I want to lower the ph in my shrimp tank. My tap water pg is a little high at the moment. Would you guys suggest the use of CO2? Any other suggestions?

There have been a few recent discussions on this topic, try searching with "acid", "bee", or "bumblebee" and it should pop up some threads. I have very hard water/high pH so I'm forced to use R/O water. I'm also trying out Seachems Acid Buffer which is a non-phophate buffer. It definitely drops the pH, but time will tell how stable it is. CO2 drops the pH, but unless it's use 24/7 it only results in a temporary drop. Then there is using aged drift/bog wood that helps as long as it is releasing a good amount of tannins and with that comes darkening water.

I would use something to naturally lower the pH. Placing some peat in your filter can both soften the water and lower pH.

It won't work all that well if you have very high KH or substrate that acts as a buffer.

If you search cichlid forums for information about keeping south american cichlids like discus you will find good information on how to keep soft low pH water in your tanks.
