How many women can a male handle?

I have had a close look at my cherry shrimp tank and I reckon 7 are female and 1 is male.

Am I putting a single male shrimp at risk through over excertion? Shall I buy a few more shrimp and hope I get males?

Lol, 1 male most likely can easily handle 7 females. The only thing is, if that one male turns out not to be a male OR if he dies, then it becomes a no-go  .

I'm about 75% sure i've one male...the shrimp in question is almost see through except for some small red spots. It's also more thinner in the body area whereas smaller shrimp than it have much more colour, thicker lines of red are are thicker body wise.

I'm doing a snail for cherry shrimp swap with a lady a know but I think they will probably be quite smaller.

I hope he doesn't wear himself out while the others grow up. :?

I suppose he could get all worn out if all the females molted and then became "available" on the same day :smt042 .

Yikes imagine all the babies that might yield?

Most fellas wouldn't mind their own 7 day a week harem. It's a 21g planted so he should have some hiding places when the novelty wears off.
