Hey there. I'm rather new to the whole shrimp think. Have read lots of great stuff here.
Just wondering if these two types can coexist peacefully, or if it would cause problems. Thanks!

They should be just fine. I have both in one tank and they don't really interact at all.
The bamboo shrimp are very peaceful and large in comparison with the ghost shrimp.
Some people have reported problems keeping ghost shrimp with dwarf shrimp species because the ghosts can eat baby shrimp.

I can confirm that other than water parameters, they won't hurt each other. Mustafa's info is that Bamboos need acidic water. Ghost's need hard basic water. If you don't plan on trying to be the 1st to breed Bamboos in capivity, shoot for neutral hard water. Bamboos can live in it, just not breed.
Having bred ghosts, I can tell you hard basic water works for them.

Didn't notice the ph info.
Hmmm... My water is 7.1 -7.2 in all three of my tanks. I have had 2 bamboo for a few months. And 4 ghost in another for about 3 weeks.
Badflash, looks like your sorta my neighbor. I'm just over the Mid Hudson Bridge.

Hey that is cool, send me a PM.
The bamboos do fine in that pH, they just don't breed which is no big deal unless you are totally bonkers like me. I'd like to try to be the first to breed them.
