I recently recieved shipment of 10 red shrimp. After 48 hours there is no trace of them, or they are experts at hidding. 55 gal. moderately planted, ten juvenile guppies and and 1 mature black goldfish. Water paramiters good by all accounts, taken from postings and articles at this website. Any ideas what went wrong??

1 mature black goldfish
This could be part of your problem.
If the gold fish did not snack on them, they may be hidding, but, as soon as the goldfish sees the Shrimp , they will be gone.
ten juvenile guppies
The guppies may to small to eat the Shrimp , but , the will pester the Shrimp.
This will make them hide.
You might try reading postings, other than water paramiters, it will help you out in the long run.
There is alot of good information, like, What Type Of Fish Can Be Kept In The Same Tank With SHRIMP.
I Hope This Helps

One place they may be hiding is inside the filter, all of my new Cherries got sucked into there, they were all happy and healthy.... just trapped.
