My tiger had her shrimplets :)

She had them yesterday evening and has one little egg left. The shrimplets are hiding in a tiny gap by the filter.....I protected the intake so they can't get sucked up.

Will cyclops harm them?

Ah I found the answer to the cyclops question myself. :-D

Will the babies get to the small amount of food I put in the tanks every 3 days? I don't want them to starve but I don't need the waste too.

They won't starve, don't worry. Babies eat so little that you'll still be putting in too much for them to eat for quite a while. They will also eat the bacteria that grows on uneaten food. As long as you don't putin so much that it effects the water quality, it will be fine.

The shrimp in question is now carrying a load of eggs again! It's only been 3 days since she released her shrimplets.

The shrimplets are so cute.....I saw a couple of tiny, tiny moults today and they are becoming more brave and venturing around the tank. :D

I lost some during the heatwave and a filter problem. I've still quite a few of the little ones and will take some pics asap.

I really think they would do better in a lower PH than I can provide at the moment to be honest.

Will take some piccies soon (recharging the batteries).

Sorry to hear that you went through this. How old were the young shrimp when you lost them? Did you lose the adults also, if so it could be the water conditions as stated by Shrimp&Snails.

water condition was A1 , i am sure of that.
i make enough test to try found the prob.
PH was not too low 6.81 and soft
all bad param was at 0 even nitrate.
snail was doing ok, but i see apparition of lot of copepod i think in the same time.
the young was about half cm or less.

the only one thing i can see is the temp who go at 26, but even that i am not sure
i will give them an other try as soon as i can get some

Perhaps the PH wasn't low enough for them?

I'm torn between artificially lowering the PH (which would create PH swings which in my mind would be more detrimental to the shrimp) and keeping things as they are. I'm planning on adding oak leaves to see how this affects everyone and the PH.....i'm always open to trying something natural as opposed to something in a bottle.

My tiger shrimp female (I only had the one) had four batches of shrimp one month after the other, becoming berried and keeping them after 2 or 3 days after dropping shrimplets and I don't doubt the water params apart from PH were to her liking.

The shrimplets I have are active and seem well....it'll be interesting to see how the oak leaves go.

Best of luck with yours and John's....they are wonderful little characters and have always been one of my favourite shrimp.
