Snail adaptability

Post by iturnrocks »

Heres a pic of a wild caught snail i had in my tank a few years ago. Apparently his shell was crushed at some point, and rather than lay down and die, he made use of the new hole in his shell.

That is great, thanks for the pic. How big is the snail and does it eat your plants?

I didnt have any plants in that tank. Those snails only get about 3/4 inch diameter, but they breed like crazy and eventually end up clogging up every intake on filters, powerheads whatever. It is quite annoying. Im not sure what they prefer to eat exactly.

Thanks for the info. I think I will stick with my apple snails for now. But I still like how your's adapted to its injury.

Thanks.
