I heard somewhere that shrimp needed additional nutrients, especially iodine. Is this necessary for freshwater shrimp?

The iodine myth is nonsense. Please, , both of you perform a search for "iodine" in this forum to get the whole story. You'll be doing yourselves and me a huge favor and actually following the rules that I have just posted in the rules section. It has been discussed about a million times. Especially pay attention to my posts about the topic. It's strange that this iodine myth still continues and it's even stranger to see it pop up in my forum again.

It's best to keep the racially/ethnically loaded expressions (which the english language unfortunately still has in its repertoire) out of this discussion forum. It's an old expression from times when racial/ethnic stereotypes were still common. Let's let it die with the "old times." There is no reason to insult our chinese forum members/readers, even if you did not intend an insult (which I know you didn't).

I find that funny even though I am Chinese American. But thank you very much Mustafa for your consideration towards all races in general.
Really appreciated it!
