I am new to shrimp but for baby fish tanks, I use a turkey baster.

Daudin, a turkey baster is like a very big eye dropper. It looks like this and you can find them at any kitchen utensil store.

Thanks for explanation and illustrative photo. I´m sorry, but it seems to me somewhat impractical-small capacity and laborious. For clening and water change I use garden hose with net. If I use mesh with small gaps I save shrimps but I don´t suck off debris. If I use mesh with big gaps I suck off debris with shrimps.

I don't vacuum shrimp tanks. The combo of shrimp, snails, plants and low feeding makes it not needed. It all goes down into my substrate, gets broken down by the bacteria, and the plants or water changes remove it. I use a media bag over the siphon to keep the babies from getting sucked up.
