DEAD SHRIMP

Post by capper »

I posted on another thread that we recently purchased 4 expensive Bumblebee Shrimp on sale at our local tropical fish shop. We put them into our smallest tank (6 gallons) which also houses 4 young platys. Today we found one of them dead. Another seems to be losing color and is very unenergetic. Very concerned. I don't have experience with these shrimp. The cherry reds and yamatos we have in our larger tanks seem to be doing quite well. Any suggestions?

Read over the articles in the Articles section, then read the Shrimp Varieties page for your shrimp, keeping a close eye on the water parameters. That will tell you more that I could. I would not keep platys with shrimp.

Store bought shrimp are usualy stressed. They may lose color and die no matter what you do.
