I want to put a wave maker in my tank so that food will flow through out my tank for my Bamboo shrimp to catch and munch on. I've seen a couple of wavemakers online, but which one is the best and how exactly does it work to produce the waves, I'm kind of new to them.

I'm in a budget also, so I don't want to spend more than 50 dollars on it.

Wavemakers produce random current in an aquarium. Everything from pump timers that turns powerhead on and off in 20-60 second intervals to rotating nozzle attachments, there are tons of different devices ranging from tens to thousands of dollars.

But you can achieve the effect cheaply and efficiently by:
a. pointing powerhead at each other across the tank
b. aim powerhead diagionally across the tank into hard corners, creating random bounce-off currents
c. modifying the powerhead by cutting the tip off creating a saw-off shotgun effect with the water flow. Instead of a directional linear flow, it will just blast the water everywhere (Seio powerhead are designed this way).

I have a 40g tank, what I use are 2 Rio Seio powerheads pointed at the diagonal oppsite corners of the tank. It works great, everytime I throw in food, it gets carried everywhere in the tank. It's funny seeing my shrimp chasing after it.

Bamboo shrimp don't want waves. They far prefer a steady current. The power head works well for this.
