Critters with H. Rubra

Post by 8x10 »

I am thinking about getting my Hawaiian shrimp a bigger tank but would like to have some of the other little inverts too.

Does anyone know if these can co-exist?

Could I put the following in a tank with my Hawaiian shrimp?

amphipods, copepods, isopods, skeleton shrimp, possible worms, tiny tiny crabs, nudibranchs.

Had this in the shrimp forum but thought maybe it should go here. Can't figure out if I could move it :? :-D

prolly not the crabs or nudibranchs. If you were going full s.w. maybe the amphipods and copepods might work. Can't really comment on it though. Opae are best kept in brackish water.

Dwarf Sea Horses? Maybe cool plants/algae like a planted salt tank.

What salinity is the water you are keeping the shrimp in? We can't answer the question until we know. This will be the key factor to figuring which animals can live in the same tank. Just find out at what salinity each animal can live in (salt/brackish/fresh). Best wishes and let us know how it goes.

Sea horses will likely eat the shrimp, so I would not try that. I keep Malaysian Trumpet Snails and Olive Nerites with mine. They get along fine. Both can handle full seawater. Mine are at 35 PPT.

The shrimp are actually sold as food for sea horses by some companies  !
