In with my last batch of ghost shrimp I have noticed a stranger.
So far he is almost 2" translucent dusky green with dk brown streaks running back from head area. He has long front tiny claws.
Is there a good site to use for identification besides this one? I'm concerned about what he considers optimal food, as he is in a large breeder tank for Splendens.

Sounds like a macrobrachium species. See the Shrimp Varieties on this site.

Wow, they do look like the M. Rosenbergii.
I just pulled up information on them and first thing tomorrow I'm moving them out of the tank. Don't know where to - but I'll find a spot.
5" is a large shrimp.
Thanks for the help with ID.

5" would be a small female. The adult males can get to be 12"+

Here's a picture of mine, I've had him since he was 2", now he's about 15" stretched out. Had him for about a year now.
I miss how they use to look when they're small, you can see the food in their stomach.
