How it got in my tank, I dont know, but I have had an explosion of hair algae. The tank is a 75 gallon, moderately planted. I know I need to get some more light over it so the plants can outcompete the algae for nutrients, but thats not going to happen anytime soon. The pH was down in the low 6's, high 5's, but I have brought it up to 6.8-7 with crushed coral.
My question is, what shrimp would you folks recommend to help with this issue?

I'd recommend an SAE.

Amanos would probably do it, but you'd need a ton of them. I finally wiped out my clado (one type of algae commonly given the "hair algae" title) with amanos, but it took over 50 to pull it off.

Yes, amanos work. However, cajun dwarf crayfish may work at least as good or even better. Mine eat *any* type of hair/string algae that I offer them. But again...you would need quite a few of them.
