Hey guys, this has been going on for a while but I have no clue what it is. On most of my cherry shrimps are these tiny specs that looks like dust but is obviously not dust. What exactly is it? All the shrimps are eating like pigs and doing quite well. I would like to know what these 'dustings' are just to be sure. Can anyone help me out here?

I have never seen what you are describing. I know it's hard to capture such small details, but a picture would help.

Yeah it's impossible to capture the dust with my camera. I took a shot of a shrimp and did a little paint job. Imagine the red dots are light brown in color and a lot smaller, just like dust. These 'dust' covers the shrimp's body and is visible up close.

Hmm..are you sure that's not just the coloration of the shrimp? Especially younger red cherries and males can have coloration that looks like little dots sometimes.

Either way, watch the behavior of your shrimp and see if they start becoming more sluggish...i.e. record any signs of discomfort. That's all you can do at this point. Also, see if these dots disappear after the next molt.
