Baby Shrimp + Flying Fox

Hey Guys,
I have a 5 gallon tank, with some plants, 8 cherry shrimps, 2 otos, 2 siamese (flying fox?), and one wood shrimp. Two of my cherry shrimps are carrying eggs and it is possible they're going to hatch any day now. My question is, does the siamese and the woof shrimp pose any threat to the newly hatched shrimplets? I'm particularly worried about the siamese algae eaters because im not sure if they're true or the flying fox kind (probably the latter) and they seem to eat almost anything I give them.
Another question, do cherry shrimps usually go to the surface of the tank? I have an open air tank and a very very hungry cat that would always drink out of my tank. 1) I'm afraid my kitty would release some chemical into the water through the cat litter in her paws. 2) She might snatch/eat any shrimps that would go up to the surface.
