How big is it? It likes much larger compared to the shrimp around it.

She is all of 1 1/4 .

She is the largerst of the 3 That I have.

Yeah, me too. But I don't know if I would've paid more than my highest bid for it.

Are you actually wanting true blue ones to start popping up, or do you want to isolate them and keep breeding the bluest together until you get the "true blue" ones?

Out of the 6 I received. Onyl 1 is a true blue. One is almost white with blue highlights. 3 are brownish with bluish highlights. An 1 is just brown.

They are still small, and I am still having a hard time sexing Crayfish.

One day I would like to start, just breed The Blues together.
Until I can get a big enough colony, I will breed what I have.

Hopefull the true blue and the white one are opposite sexed. Those would probably make some BEAUTIFUL babies together. Pure white could be nice too.

I know one of the ones I recently received from a source outside of Mustafa is BLACK. Almost nothing but blackness.. I would LOVE to start breeding pure black ones.

In a 125 you're gonna need some SERIOUS numbers before really seeing too much... sounds like they have alot of hiding spots though, so hopefully the babies will last longer.

Your title says "orange/brown"; is the female in the pic a cross of the orange w/a wild brown? There are some available, and I was wondering what they looked like. I'm also curious what the young will look like, since the orange were selectively bred from the wild browns to begin with.
I would like to start breeding some myself. It would be great to end up with different line-bred color varieties, like the way corn snakes have been separated into amelanistic, etc.

The Female pictured, is what you get when you breed the wild form of
Cambarellus patzcuarensis and the Orange morph of the same species.

I purchased these off of one of the auction sites.

I received 3 of the wild form and 3 of the wild/orange.
They were alot cheaper , than buying a pair of Orange's

My first batch of young, I had at least 4 orange young.
These 4 stuck out .

Then they disappeared, I must have not been feeding the adults enough.

The eggs from the Female pictured, have hatched.
They are in with Shrimp, and they are alittle hard to tell the difference between young Shrimp and Crayfish at this size.
It makes you go crossed eyed.

I'd move the adults to another tank, the shrimp won't be any threat to the young.

Without harming the young Crayfish or Shrimp.
