Cambararellus patzcuarensis ( orange/Brown) Female with eggs

How much/often do the adults eat? I'm thinking of putting a trio (1/2f) into my 10 gallon cherry shrimp tank. I only feed the shrimp once daily with crumbled flakes, though they do seem to like the water lily leaves I've been dropping in.
Do the dwarf cray's eat algae and dead plants like the shrimp?

I have been feeding the crayfish twice a day, small amounts of,
frozen peas, Tuna fish, Pellets, Asparagus, spinach.

I try to mix it up, to give them a variaty.

There never seems to be any left.

Just a update
I can count 6 little Crayfish. The biggest is just under 1/4 inch.

It takes alot of eye strain, to tell the difference between young Shrimp and young Crayfish.
At that size, Through Algae covered glass.

When they get alittle bigger, I will clean the glass and take some pictures.

I feed my shrimp spirulina flake, Omega One African Cichlid flake, NLS pellets, and something called Sonic's Pleco Power Pellets that I received with a shipment of baby pleco's. Along with whatever they find growing in the tank, they have been thriving on this combo. I'm thinking of adding frozen bloodworms, mysis shrimp, and the occaisonal crushed ramshorn snail to the menu for the crayfish for the meaty portion of their diet.
I wonder if they would like microworms? I culture those by the thousands for my fish fry, will see if the cray's will eat them as well.

Yes, They will eat them.
It is funny to watch.

Shrimp love them also.

I have the Crayfish in with Shrimp.
There are babies of both, and they are the same size.

I can tell the difference between the two, But, looking through the view finder fo the camera, is another thing.

The easiest way , to tell the difference.
The Crayfish only swim backwards

Those pics are great! As I work with my new dwarf crays, I'll definitely be looking to you for pointers on breeding.

I think I need to re-think the food I am giving them and probably need to add more fresh plant material.

My Female is carring eggs again

Just another picture of the last batch.
It seems that the Orange ones , grow alot slower.
And they are alot harder to get a good picture, with the substrate I have.

She is 1 3/8 . She is alot bigger than the 2 males that are in with her.

I also have a " Wild colored " Female, She is a little over 1 1/2 .

As Soon as she drops this next batch of young, I will be moving the adults to a larger tank.
The 10 gal is just to small for them.
