Color in Shell or Body?

OK, a newbie question!

Have Red Cherry Shrimp. Couple times have noticed what appears to be a thin red "thing"; looks like it could be a shrimp shell thats unfolded.

Have seen white molted shells before, almost look like shrimp. Could these be the molted shells from females?

Nothing in the tank that would eat a live shrimp (assuming Brig snails won't).

So is the color in the shell; so these would be female molts, and the white ones were from males-as these are the colors of my shrimp/

Ideas?

When Shrimp molt, they leave behind a clear whiteish shell.
Both male and females.

If you have something that is red or pinkish. It is more than likely a dead Shrimp.

The only things that will eat a dead shrimp when there are nothing else to eat them are live shrimp  ! Sorry to hear about your shrimp.

Oh well!

Do have at least 3 babies from last week (all that I've seen at one time together-might be more hiding in the Java Moss), plus do have another female all berried up:
