These are just Crystal Red shrimp. As you can see they can have variation in coloring and patterning (stripes). I have no idea where the guy had the imagination to come up with the name "Candy Cane Shrimp."

This is another example of 5 million people making up 10 million common names for the same shrimp.

Notice the starting price tag....almost 10 bucks/shrimp. I guess that's been the going price for the few Crystal Red Shrimp offered in the US so far.

I love how he says "they spawn readily" without (most likely) ever having tried to spawn them or breed them or knowing anything about how sensitive these shrimp can be. And I am sure that they spawn in that sterile bare bottom tank they are *stored* in *very* readily....LOL

I've even seen people say on Aquabid and some online stores that sell shrimp "they spawn readily" in the aquarium and are "very productive" about shrimp species that I know FOR SURE need saltwater for their larvae to survive.

I guess some people feel that it is *really* hard to tell the truth when it comes to selling animals.

I guess I should have said: "breeds like crazy and the young grow up in NO TIME" about my Indian Algae Shrimp when I wrote their description instead of saying: "Their hatchlings grow slowly"....LOL. :-D

And what's up with that boring name? "Indian Algae Shrimp"....let's just use: "Indian Dark Blue Traffic Light Shrimp" "
THE MOST COLORFUL SHRIMP AROUND AND THE BEST ALGAE EATER EVER!!" :-D

Haha...these people crack me up...but it's sad that the truth is not valued.

That's what I thought.

I was assuming he had misspelled "swim".

"Young spring from their father's head fully grown and wearing armor. Algae has no chance."
"Indian Dark Blue Traffic Light Shrimp"
Warning: Shrimp must not be visible to passing motorists. The shrimps' bright coloration has been known to cause traffic accidents.
