Amano shrimp filter feeding

Hello all. Today I observed my female Amano shrimp clinging to a floating bio ball next to a stream of bubbles from the sponge filter.

The shrimp was in the typical filter feeding position of a filter shrimp; i.e. it had all four claws extended out in the open while periodically bringing it to its mouth.

The tank has 3 oak leaves and all four walls are covered with biofilm, so it looks like theres plenty to graze on. Feeding is somewhat sparse.

Has anyone else observed this behavior?

I have 7 adult amano shrimp and they sometime cling to a floating mesh bag with moss in it. They also go through what looks like iflter feeding movements. There must be particles for them to feed on or else I don't think they would be doing this.

I've seen it and asked about it last year. Mustafa commented that many shrimp have those sorts of "strainers" and use them so some degree. I watched my amanos use them to catch moina.
